Rosehip Soap – Face Cleanser for Dry Skin and Combination Skin

Some loves don't need replacing — just the occasional new chapter. If our Oatmeal Soap has been your nightly ritual for years, meet its vibrant sibling: the same trusted recipe, now carrying the deep, rosy warmth of Nordic rosehip.

Daily Cleanser

Skin feel

It carries the same satiny, cushioning lather as our original superfat soap base, now with the faintest natural grain from the rosehip powder. Just a small amount froths into a soft, velvety lather — work it between damp palms before massaging over the face, letting the fine rosehip particles offer a gentle polish as the botanical oils do their quiet work.

Aroma

A delicate, slightly tart aroma of dried rosehip, earthy and softly fruited rather than classically floral — true to the fruit itself, not the flower. Not added, not designed. What you smell is what nourishes you.

Vitamin C

Rosehip is one of the richest plant sources of vitamin C known, and it's the nutrient most responsible for this soap's point of difference. Vitamin C is studied for its role in supporting the skin's natural radiance and helping skin look more even in tone, especially where daily exposure has left its mark. It works alongside this formula's other antioxidants rather than in isolation, which is part of why we chose rosehip in the first place.

Carotenoids (Beta-Carotene & Lycopene)

These are the pigments responsible for rosehip's deep, warm colour, and they're known for their antioxidant properties. Associated with a healthy, luminous-looking glow, carotenoids are also studied for their role in helping protect skin's cell structures from everyday oxidative stress.

Polyphenols

A broad family of plant antioxidants concentrated in rosehip, polyphenols are studied for their role in helping calm the appearance of redness and protect skin from everyday environmental stress — the same compound category behind this soap's calming claim in Benefits.

Natural Fruit Texture

Finely ground rather than left coarse, the rosehip powder itself offers a gentle, natural exfoliation with every wash, helping skin look smoother and more refined over time.

Vitamin E

Known for its role in helping protect skin from everyday environmental stress, vitamin E works quietly in the background of every wash, helping skin look calm rather than reactive.

Omega-3 Fatty Acid (Alpha-Linolenic Acid)

Studied for its conditioning and softening qualities, and associated with helping skin look more even in tone.

Omega-9 Fatty Acid

Associated with a softening, conditioning effect on skin, helping the lather feel comfortable rather than stripping.

Lauric Acid

Studied for its role in supporting a soap's natural cleansing and lathering properties.

Bioactive Peptides

Known for supporting the skin's natural balance, bioactive peptides are associated with helping skin look smoother, firmer, and more radiant over time.

Amino Acids

Associated with supporting the appearance of skin across all types, amino acids contribute to this formula's well-rounded nutrient profile.

Coenzyme Q10

Studied for its role in supporting cellular energy and helping protect skin from everyday oxidative stress, contributing to a smoother-looking finish over time.

Morning

No cleansing needed — your skin's natural overnight repair deserves protection, not removal.

Evening

Moisten your hands and work the soap into a smooth, conditioning lather between your palms. Massage gently over the face to dissolve makeup and impurities, then rinse thoroughly. For a deeper ritual, cleansing may be repeated

Why skip morning cleansing?

While you sleep, your skin rebuilds its vital acid mantle and lipid barrier. Washing it away each morning strips these freshly restored defences before they can protect you. Rinsing with water alone ensures your skin starts the day fully shielded.

How long it lasts

With daily evening use, one bar offers approximately two months of ritual care.

Storage

To ensure its longevity, allow the bar to dry fully between uses in a well-ventilated space — resting it on top of a nail brush, or on a beautifully slatted soap dish, is ideal.

FAQs

A cleanser can leave dry skin feeling tight when its surfactants strip away not just dirt, but also the skin's own surface lipids — the vital fats that keep moisture locked in. This bar is formulated to avoid that.

Rosehip Soap is made using a superfatting method: a deliberate excess of nourishing oils — cold-pressed Finnish rapeseed and linseed — remains unsaponified rather than fully converted into soap. That unreacted fat carries directly into the rich lather, softening the wash and leaving a lightweight, protective layer on the skin instead of stripping it bare. Combined with the absolute absence of added fragrance, preservatives, and fillers — common triggers for dry, reactive skin — it cleans thoroughly while keeping the skin completely comfortable.

Yes — the rich lather dissolves makeup and the day’s impurities in one step. Lather up, massage over the face, then rinse. Be sure to keep your eyes closed throughout. Since this product is meant for evening use, there’s no need for a separate morning wash — you can simply apply your skincare directly to the skin.
For heavier eye makeup, it’s best to remove it first using a damp cotton pad with a drop of Niki Newd Oil Serum. It lifts even stubborn pigments while the nourishing oil stays behind to care for the delicate eye area.

Both soaps are made with the same trusted superfat base, designed to cleanse without stripping the skin. The difference is in the botanical ingredient at the heart of each bar.

Rosehip Soap contains Nordic rosehip powder, naturally rich in plant compounds including carotenoids, polyphenols and vitamin C, giving the soap its warm, earthy character and distinctive botanical profile.

Because Rosehip Soap is a rinse-off product, we don’t position it as a vitamin C treatment — the contact time with the skin is too short for it to work in the same way as a leave-on vitamin C serum or cream. Instead, rosehip brings the benefits of the whole plant into the cleansing ritual.

If you already love Oatmeal Soap, Rosehip Soap offers the same gentle, superfat cleansing philosophy with a different Nordic botanical profile.

Yes. Niki Newd Rosehip Soap is specially formulated for dry and sensitive skin. Its superfatted formula contains nourishing plant oils that help cleanse without leaving skin feeling tight or stripped of its natural oils.

If you're switching from a cleanser with a very different texture or foaming consistency, give your skin time to adjust to the new cleansing routine. We recommend cleansing once in the evening.

As we always tell our customers, Niki Newd skincare products are designed to work in harmony with our soaps, helping keep your skin soft, nourished and comfortable after cleansing.

Many foaming cleansers can leave dry skin feeling tight and uncomfortable. The reason isn't the foam itself, but the cleansing agents, known as surfactants. While they remove dirt and impurities, some can also strip away the skin's natural lipids, which play an essential role in maintaining moisture and a healthy skin barrier. Over-cleansing can therefore contribute to dryness and irritation.

Niki Newd Rosehip Soap is crafted using a traditional superfatting method, which leaves a portion of its nourishing plant oils unsaponified. When lathered between your hands, it creates a rich, creamy foam designed to cleanse gently while leaving skin feeling soft and comfortable. Free from added fragrance, its formula is thoughtfully made for dry and sensitive skin.

We recommend cleansing once in the evening, followed by your favourite Niki Newd skincare product, specially designed to complement our soaps and support your skin's moisture balance.

CO-FOUNDER'S  note

For years, our Oatmeal Soap was the only cleanser I ever used — and for a long time, I didn't think it needed a companion.

However, I had been thinking for a while about how we could utilize local rosehip. After various trials, we found the perfect place for it, and the oatmeal soap and rosehip clicked together instantly.

At its core, this new version shares the exact same familiar, reliable base, but the rosehip elevates it into something a little more luxurious. It brings a faint, earthy warmth, a new gentle scent profile — and, of course, a lovely touch of variety to your daily skincare ritual.

Two soaps, one base recipe. It feels wonderful to bring variation to familiar rituals, as long as nothing about what makes them work is compromised.
